“My name is Fantanesh Attomsa and I am the founder of Blue Nile Massage & Wellness. We are a Holistic health and healing practice that aims to empower others to take control of their health through holistic health services and education. I am also a mother of 3 (11-year-old and 15-month old twins). The reason I started this business originally was that there was not a lot of representation in my field. But the reason that has kept me here is that I get to express myself creatively through my services every day and support clients in becoming the best version of themselves.”
“I have a home practice in Bedford NS, that includes Registered Massage Therapy (Direct billing included), Thai Massage, Indian Head Massage, Hot Stones, Cupping, Fresh hot towels, Doula Services. I also offer energy and spiritual services including Reiki Healing, Birth chart interpretations, oracle readings and long-term wellness counselling. My workshops include Prenatal Massage certification, Setting Energetic Boundaries, Reawakening our divine feminine, and Self Care Night.”
“Holistic health means being well in the mind, body, and spirit. They are in balance with each other and we need to make sure all areas are nurtured and cared for in order to experience optimal health.”
“I graduated from the Canadian College Of Massage and Hydrotherapy, I also have Reiki Level 1 & 2 as well as Doula Certification through DONA.”
“I am a big believer in community – I volunteer as much as I can. Currently, I am a mentor for Black Women In Excellence which helps black women entrepreneurs who are considering pursuing entrepreneurship. I’ve volunteered massage therapy services to multiple organizations throughout HRM. I have been on a few local podcasts. I have been a columnist and guest speaker and am also currently a volunteer doula. My main goal through volunteering is to make health and wellness more accessible and for people to see representation in various fields and to hopefully empower them to take control of their health in simple, sustainable ways.”
“I would say my core values are PASSION for what I do, DEDICATION to my clients, and COMMUNITY – to always be pouring back in some way. Working me I would think is fun LOL – I take my work seriously and am dedicated to being knowledgable and going above and above to provide the best care to my clients. I am always doing cross-referrals to other practitioners if needed because their health is my priority. But I am also lots of fun and we are always joking around and laughing (usually about our kids). I also love to make funny reels on IG. Booking is fairly easy – you can do so online via my website or simply send me a DM or email and I will be happy to do it for you!”
“Extremely- and I can’t emphasize enough the importance of continuing that care into the 4th trimester. Postpartum is very delicate and needs even more time and attention as you recover and heal adjust.”
SOS – please don’t be afraid to ask for help. Proactively recruit help and people you can call as babysitters, to help around the house, bring food, etc. We were never meant to do this alone!!
